3 Day Outlook:

Friday night will be dry and calm with clear spells but it will turn rather cold in many places; fog patches and grass frost will occur inland. Apart from a little drizzle appearing on some western coasts at times, Saturday will be a dry day with a mixture of cloud and sunny spells; winds will stay light and it will become reasonably mild by afternoon. Another cold night inland on Saturday night, with a touch of grass frost and some fog patches returning. Patches of drizzle may still trouble Atlantic coastal fringes during Sunday but the rest of the country will stay dry with broken cloud; light to moderate, southwesterly breezes will set in and it will become fairly warm in the afternoon away from coastal margins of the south and west. On Sunday night, however, a band of rain will spread steadily eastwards across the country accompanied by freshening, southerly breezes. Rain will continue countrywide on Monday morning but a clearance to showers will spread from the west through the afternoon, with winds veering westerly, moderate to fresh; much cooler conditions will return on Monday also. Unsettled conditions will then persist for the rest of next week. There will be showers or longer spells of rain each day and temperatures will be well below normal for the end of May both day and night. It is likely to be windy occasionally also, with westerlies predominating.
